Save the Date – April 18
Circle Saturday, April 18, on your calendar! It’s
“Hammers and Hotdogs” day at the soon-to-be completed HFH
Lake City/Columbia County home on Fowler Avenue. Join the fun. (Map to Location)
The day’s festivities begin at 9 AM.
Tour the new 3-bedroom, two-bath home. Chat with the volunteers who
built the home and the supporters who donated funds and materials. Meet
the new homeowners and neighbors. Enjoy free hot dogs.
Shop for bargains at the yard sale, sponsored by the Modern Woodmen of the World. The yard sale will last until 1 PM, so come early to get the best deals on building materials, appliances, tools, and more.
Without the help of Volunteers and Supporters this house would not have been possible. Join us to extend our appreciation to the many local businesses that have contributed the dollars, discounts and donation of materials and services required to build this home. Nearly 100 Volunteers dedicated over 3000 hours in 6 months to complete this 3 bedroom/2 bath house.
The house will be open 9:30 til noon for visitors to walk through and get an understanding of what Habitat for Humanity is about. Be sure to clean your shoes ;o)
Businesses and churches provide FREE hotdogs. Publix and Winn-Dixie are providing the hotdogs and drinks that will be served by members of the Youth Group of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints.
Habitat
for Humanity will include a yard sale in our "Hammers and Hot Dogs"
Event on April 18, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Modern
Woodmen of America has offered to sponsor
the yard sale and will double the money we take in during the sale.
We have already received a number of items for the sale including a
new range and hood, new dishwasher, surplus lumber, and
tools. We
would like to have more donations of small appliances in good working
condition, yard items, tools, household goods, etc. We are
excluding
clothes, shoes, purses and small items from the yard sale.
Now
is a good time to clean out your sheds and attics and donate your surplus items to Habitat for Humanity for our yard sale! If you have items that can be sold to benefit HFH, contact Jerry Sue (jfatzinger@hfhlakecity.org). Please bring your donations to the building site at 938 NW Fowler Avenue as early as possible on Saturday, April 18th.
Come and enjoy this special event and take home
some "treasures" from
the yard sale!
